What should I expect during my tour?
Reindeer experiences are approximately 45 minutes long and begin with an informative session where we will learn some fun facts about reindeer followed by a safety briefing. After the safety instructions, we will enter the reindeer enclosure where you will have the opportunity to feed, interact, and take pictures with our friendly reindeer.
What should I wear? What is the weather like on the farm?
It is always windy in Goldendale! Come prepared for the wind. Goldendale has four seasons, snow in winter, and hot temperatures in summer. Dress accordingly and please wear closed toe shoes. SHEEP AND GOATS CARRY AN AIRBORNE SPORE THAT CAN KILL REINDEER. PLEASE AVOID ALL CONTACT WITH SHEEP AND GOATS PRIOR TO YOUR VISIT AND WEAR FRESHLY LAUNDERED CLOTHING AND CLEAN SHOES FOR YOUR GOLDENDALE REINDEER EXPERIENCE. Upon arrival to the farm, you will be asked about any recent contact with sheep and goats, and all hands and shoes will be sanitized prior to entry into the reindeer experience.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer a full refund if cancellation is received prior to 48 hours to your scheduled tour. Should we cancel a farm tour, you will receive a refund. We do not cancel tours due to weather.
Where can I find information about the different experiences you offer?
Click on the BOOK NOW button, which will take you to descriptions of our current and seasonal tour offerings. Check back often, as these changes throughout the year.
What else can I do in Goldendale?
Goldendale is a small town of 3600 people with a few restaurants which include the our personal favorites: The Town House Café, Bake My Day, the Honky Tonk, and the Simcoe Café. We also have a local brewery, Dwinell Country Ales, and Maryhill Winery is a short distance away. Goldendale Observatory is also a popular attraction, housing one of the largest and most accessible telescopes in the nation. Stonehenge, a WWI war memorial, showcasing views of the Columbia River, is also a scenic stop. Please check operating hours for these establishments prior to making plans to visit.
Can I bring a picnic to enjoy after my tour?
Yes! We have picnic tables on the farm with views of Mt Adams, Mt Hood, and Mt St Helens (and our reindeer!) weather permitting. Please take care to mind all trash from picnics as reindeer will eat anything they find. Take the time to enjoy our peaceful surroundings and soak in the magic of Goldendale Reindeer.
Do you allow pets or service animals?
Pets are not allowed on our property. Canines are a natural predator to reindeer and their health and behavior can be adversely affected by unfamiliar animals. Please refer to the Department of Justice ADA for more information:
